There's not much to do on a train: look out the window, read a book, talk to folks around you. I happened to be looking out the window at the moment, camera in hand, as this scene whirred by somewhere in Utah (I think).

Rich colors permeate the horizon in Lyndonville, Vermont. The next morning is just as impressive. Both photos have a "manually extended" dynamic range; that is, I bracketed the exposure of each shot and later created a composite of the best exposures in Photoshop.
